The Alfred Denny Museum Chair

A nationally renowned behavioural biology professor from Sheffield University commissioned this seat when a particular book provided larger royalties than expected. Construction of the blank chair was made by Bryan Frisby, from 700 year old, cottage oak rafters, that had been ship’s timbers prior to that. I was given free run of the Alfred Denny Specimen collection so that I could encrust the chair with a wide range of startling carved animal specimens in varied states of preservation and dissection.
