‘The Boy and the Bird’

’The Boy and the Bird was based on a fifties childhood DIY falconry tale parallel to ‘Kes’but set in Parkwood Springs, an isolated and now vanished, industrial village in Sheffield.

Wearing welder’s gauntlets a child rides a giant kestrel that holds a claw hammer in its talons. Wildlife, industry and the long gone informed this entrance feature to the rare wild landscape encapsulated by the city.
